Ship Rock, New Mexico281 views I often pointed out Ship Rock to my passengers when flying by. It rises almost 1800 feet above the desert floor near the town of Ship Rock, New Mexico, on the Navajo Indian Reservation. It's named that because of its resemblance to a 19th century Clipper ship, and is featured in lots of old Westerns. July 7, 2006
